On April 2-4, 2025, a training session on the application of the Lean Six Sigma system in assessing the effectiveness of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) in the textile and construction sectors, the main sectors of the economy of Uzbekistan, was held.
The event was organized by the prestigious consulting company Integration Consulting within the framework of the important project of the German government “Consulting on the development of the private sector and economic policy in Uzbekistan” implemented by the Deutsche Gesellschaft Für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH.
The training session on improving the Lean Six Sigma system and its widespread implementation in practice included a roundtable discussion on issues such as increasing system efficiency, identifying and eliminating process losses, modern approaches to quality management, and strengthening the principles of continuous improvement.
The main areas discussed were:
The possibilities of using Lean Six Sigma tools across industries (industry, services, healthcare, and public administration)
Ways to implement the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) methodology in accordance with local conditions
Establish special training programs and certification systems to improve employee skills
Widely use digital technologies and data analytics to strengthen the analytical approach
According to the results of the meeting, develop a practical action plan for the phased introduction of the Lean Six Sigma system into the activities of organizations
Launch pilot projects aimed at increasing quality indicators and reducing losses
Introduce a mechanism for assessing the effectiveness of the system based on quarterly monitoring and analysis
Conclusions were drawn on the study of international experiences for the development of the system.
The Center's employees actively participated in the training program. Igor Eromenko, Project Components Manager at GIZ Uzbekistan, and Atanas Kochov, Head of the German Integration Consulting Group, highly appreciated the participants' desire to gain new knowledge and demonstrated the possibilities of introducing lean Six Sigma principles to significantly increase the efficiency and competitiveness of Uzbek enterprises.
